Digitalization processes are characterized by multiple pluralities of societal logics and diverse perspectives of heterogenous actors and stakeholders, while organizations are central actors and drivers of the ongoing digitalization of society (Omol 2024). With the rapid advancement of generative AI, algorithmic decision-making, big data analytics and other digital technologies, organizational decision-making, information processing and knowledge management are fundamentally altered and transformed (Besio et al. 2024; Faraj et. al. 2018; Hinds & von Krogh 2024). Organizations both shape digitalization efforts by incorporating novel digital technologies in their decision-making processes as they are changed by those technological innovations themselves (cf. Büchner 2018; Faraj & Pachidi 2021; Hinds & von Krogh 2024). Consequently, organizations need to consider the diverse and heterogenous expectations of a multitude of internal and external stakeholders and societal environments in digitalization efforts (Trittin-Ulbrich et. al. 2021). As such, we ask for contributions that discuss how organizations, digital technologies, and pluralities of logics and expectations interact.
